Even though I’m really late on posting the last 2 letters of the A to Z challenge (unexpected events came up) I didn’t want to leave the challenge incomplete so I decided to share my posts with you.

X is for..

There are not many words that start with the letter x and the only words I could think of would be X-ray and Xylophone. But I thought I’d Google “words starting with the letter x” and see what came up. I found the word Xenodochial. I’ve never heard of it but when I read the definition it definitely caught my attention.

Xenodochial: (adj.) friendly to strangers.

Example: “The salesman was very xenodochial; consequently, he led the company in sales this month.”
(Reference: AskVille by Amazon)

Now there’s a word you don’t hear often. I guess in the blogging community everyone is very xenodochial too 😀 Hope you like this short post and if you’re like me you just learned a new word today 🙂

Writing is…

The best medicine for any occasion.
Therapy for the soul.
A form to express emotions.
A whole other universe.

T is for…

family

Together we’ve made it through stormy days,
But luckily it was just a phase.
It wasn’t easy, so much sacrifice
But in the long run we earned a prize.
As time passed by we learned for the best
And up until now, we’ve been blessed.

My 2 year old’s name starts with the letter S. She is very smart, talkative, and a trouble maker. It’s so fun to see how much she’s learned and she’s following her big sister’s footsteps.

She’s holding her favorite blanket

She loves watching Curious George and Clifford the Big Red Dog, I think that’s where her love for dogs developed because we’ve never owned dogs but when she sees them she gets very happy! She’s very shy but when she’s comfortable enough she is everywhere. Her vocabulary has broaden and I’m happy to hear her respond when I ask her questions, but it makes me realize that she’s rapidly outgrowing the baby part. I love her very much and I can’t wait to see all the new things she’ll be doing soon! 😀

Over the years birthdays seem to lose their touch as we grow up. As kids it’s something we look forward to because we want our school friends to come over and of course the presents! Luckily, birthdays became special once again for me after I had my daughters. They are actually getting better because they understand more and they are excited to sing Happy Birthday and to blow out the candle. (Everyone has to take a turn :-))

This weekend I celebrated my 28th birthday and it was the best one yet. Friday I got to spend it with an old high school friend who I haven’t seen for over year. It’s always fun seeing old friends and reminiscing of the old days. Saturday I spent it with my family and more friends, it’s always fun being around friends that know how to make you laugh. And on Sunday (my actual birthday) it was well spent with my parents, my sister and her family, and a surprise appearance by my closest friend. I can honestly say this birthday was one of the best because I got to spend it with everyone that I love and care about. My daughters made sure everyone knew who’s birthday it was that they even made me wear a crown because in their words, “I was the Queen.” 😀

Here are some of the treats I got for my birthday:

One of my daughter’s homework assignments was to do a project to learn about nature. She was suppose to put a bean inside a cup with napkin and a little bit of water to see how tall it will grow and become a plant. I remember doing this small experiment back in elementary school so I was excited to show her the process of taking care of her plant.

The first day she didn’t know what to expect so we let a few days pass until there was some sign of growth.

It had been about 5 days when I took this photo:

The next day it grew more and she was so excited she wanted a picture holding her plant:

It had been a week and it was now 13 inches tall:

Since the plant kept growing we decided to change it into a pot and place it outside. My daughter was very excited and until now she’s expecting for her plant to grow really tall until it touches the ceiling 🙂

I hope you enjoyed our little project 😀

One of my favorite places to visit in Los Angeles is the Griffith Park Observatory. It is a place that displays space and science related exhibits. There are hiking trails that take you all the way up to the facility, but if you don’t feel like hiking, there is parking available outside of the observatory. The parking and the entrance are free, which means it’s always pack with tourists. It is a major attraction to all because you can see the view of the city and the Hollywood sign.
